I finally had a decent couple of days. The past month has just been hell for me. We had play auditions about a month ago, and of course I tried out. However, things were a bit different this year, as in we got new directors. Well...long story short, if we had kept the same directors, I would've gotten the lead this year for sure. However, whatever I was doing right for the other people, I was doing wrong for these two. I got a part with four lines.

FOUR.

LINES.

Yeah. Needless to say I was pissed. It wasn't because I didn't get the lead. I just wanted a decent speaking part. However, all the good parts went to people of varying grades who had never been in play before. I felt lower than dirt. I know there's that saying that no matter what you do, there will always be someone better than you. However, play was the one thing where I was that person who was better. My one friend (the student director) texted me about my part before the cast list went up. I had never cried so hard in my life. I know it was just a simple part in a play, but the theatre was always important to me. Now, everything has changed so much that I don't even recognize it anymore.

However, a few things have stayed the same. We had elementary visits today, which was great. We gave the four elementary schools a little preview and all the kids loved it, which made me feel great. However, as the girl who got the lead took charge of the questions, I couldn't help but think 'That should've been me'. It doesn't help when everyone else in the cast agrees with me either. I was made her understudy last minute, and had to memorize her 250 lines for no darn reason. She just got her costume yesterday (the show is on saturday) and it was too tight for her. But guess who would've fit into it? Three guesses, first two don't count.

Yeah.

But nevertheless, afterwards, we went to Dairy Queen for food and I had a lot of fun with , Kitz, Natalie, Adam and Dave. I felt sort of bad for the employees because we made such a mess trying to throw straw paper down ~MaryMalevolent's shirt. I'm also watching The Green Mile right now, which I haven't seen in forever. Good movie. ^^ I've gotten slightly better at coloring digitally, but I'm still not pleased with myself. One thing I found out I'm good at is makeup effects. There's this girl Allison who plays the Old Squirrel and I did her makeup for her. She actually looked old and all I used was eye shadow. ^o^ Trying to convince Kitz that eyeliner doesn't hurt, however, was another matter altogether. He was scared last year by Renee, poor kid. We also played bet ball today before practice. You put a garbage can on the other side of the stage and get a ball. Then you say something like 'If I make this in, so and so has to do the macarena'. Only the bets were more like, Kitz has to go commando for the performance, or Adam has to strip. The ones that actually went in were, 'Kitz and Adam have to strip down to their underwear and Kitz has to carry Adam around the auitorium,' and 'Dave has to wear Adams underwear on his head and run around the rotunda'. 83 Then all the bets started to turn into Kayla (me) has to kiss so and so. o0 ...Yeah. Even after all of the drama that's been going on and making me feel like crap, I still love play. I'll try out for the spring, and hopefully the directors will....well....pull their heads out their butts. ^^

Artwise, I'm still workin' on some stuff. Marionette: Still getting major major edits. The first page is being lined, and I'm sketching the second now. tAoF: I'm guessing that the villan design will stay the same, but she'll need a new name. I never liked the name Demonwolf anyways. I just wish that I could stick with one single art style rather than switching back and forth between so many different ones trying to figure out which ones I like best.

To my BBA friends, sorry I haven't been active lately. I typed and sent a bit of an explanation and I hope that you all can forgive me.

To ma tAoFers: Evil people don't need to wait for me in order to start a thread and good people....well we're waiting on things to get better in real life for (you know who you are).
